For over 50 years, Rier Carpentry in Seis has been part of South Tyrol’s proud craft tradition. Today, in our 3,000 m² workshop, we combine two worlds: the skill and creativity of true craftsmen with the precision of advanced manufacturing technology. With deep material expertise, a keen eye for detail, and strong technical know-how, we create high-end interior solutions that go beyond expectations. Every piece is made to measure with millimeter precision, down to the smallest hidden corner, even if it will never be seen.

1979
Purchase of today’s headquarters in the industrial area of Seis.
1981
The beginning of Rier Carpentry’s operations.
We are already installing a private wood-chip heating system to make use of sustainable energy.
1983
We successfully complete our first hotel project.
1987
Our first Olivetti typewriter takes its place in the office.
1993
Our team grows to 25 employees.
The first CNC milling machine is acquired.
2000 - 2002
After expanding the office, we move on to enlarging the carpentry workshop and production area.
2011
Our first production manager ensures smooth operations.
from 2016
We continuously upgrade our work technologies with innovative machines and digitize processes in production planning and administration.
2018
Our team grows to 40 employees.
2021
A managing director is appointed.
2024
Josef Rier and Christine Mulser Rier are passing the management of the company on to their two sons, Martin and Stefan Rier.
2025
An innovative CNC drilling center supports our carpentry team. We are growing to a team of 50 employees.

We work with one of the most natural raw materials and are based in one of the most stunning landscapes, the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, including the “Seiser Alm”. Responsible stewardship of our environment is deeply rooted in who we are.

A quarter of our electricity needs is supplied by our own photovoltaic system. Since 2001, we have co-operated a district heating plant that uses locally sourced wood chips to provide climate-friendly heat for our workshop as well as for around 50 households and businesses. In addition, we have long supported local sports and cultural associations, whose members dedicate themselves with great passion on a voluntary basis.
